In our previous post back in October (“Feathercap now has AI driven search and curation”) we talked a lot about the power of being able to automate content curation and to be able in real time understand as content is added in terms of “what it means”, “what it’s about” and “who is it for.” We also talked about how successful on-the-fly language translation is done. To be successful it’s necessary to understand the meaning of words, phrases, entities (person, place, thing), sentiment as well as syntax. Because of all this we are able to pull out what a specific paragraph, image, video, page or entire set of pages comprising content semantically means along with the full meaning/ sentiment and goal of any employee question and then match them.
This AI driven natural language processing is how we now can now offer Feathercap in 21 languages including: Arabic, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Hebrew, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, and Turkish.
There are two interesting use cases to the above functionality:
1. Feathercap can operate in any of these 21 languages.
This is the typical feature associated with the bulk of learning systems. If for example you want your users to view their learning system in Japanese and you would like to import all your content which is also in Japanese, Feathercap will faithfully show all user emails, messages and and interactions in Japanese. All content will also appear in their native language which in this case is Japanese.
2. Search, curate and translate your content automatically from these 21 languages. (Coming Soon)
This is where it gets interesting. Since Feathercap can in real-time understand the semantic meaning of any content and can now translate between many of its supported 21 languages, very soon you will be able to search for a document in English and the best result may be one which is currently in Japanese. Feathercap will translate the document from Japanese to English making it available to your English audience automatically. Imagine having most any content type; Word document, PDF, PowerPoint automatically translated to a preferred language and have that searchable so those in other regions/ who speak other languages are able to both find and benefit from them.
For world wide organizations this will save vast amounts of time by making it easy to find the right content and having it available in any one of 21 languages.
